He toured up and down the Eastern Seaboard as lead guitarist with the “Jim Femino Band”. He then founded the incredibly popular Boston Band “The Candles” and quickly gained a large and loyal following. The Candles regularly filled 200-400 seat venues over a twelve-year period.

As a Headbanger in highschool, Mike worshiped the sounds of Iron Maiden and Ronnie James Dio, (still his Heavy Metal God!)
Mike began playing drums at age 21, when a family friend needed a place to store his drumset. Soon after he picked up his first gig with "Last Call"
In the early 90's Mike teamed with old friend Jay Sullivan to create what is still considered one of Boston's most premier funk bands, Felix Brown.
The late 90's found Mike in Lake Tahoe,CA, where he landed a fulltime gig with local rockstars, Cool Black Kettle. Led by singer/ songwriter Jessie Kalin Carson, the band hit the road and gave Mike the experience of a lifetime! After touring the west and later moving to San Diego, Mike returned to Boston in 2000 where he met Chris and evenutally founded Close to Home. Mike also shares his time enjoying the great outdoors with his 'G-thang" Vanessa and their two dogs Madison and Consuela! Big shout out to Bootney who passed away this past march. :(

Favorite Drink: a Pint of Guiness at Porter Belly's Pub
Favorite Passtime:Crashing wine tasting parties his wife Karen

Brian may look friendly enough but once you hear him play, its easy to see why he is simply known as a Monster on Bass.
Educated at Berklee School of Music, this New Hampshire native earned his title by working with the best bands in the jam scene over the past 15 years: Jiggle the Handle, Gary Beckstrom Band, Revival, Playin' Dead, the Candles and Another Planet.
It is well known that Brian has a liking to Guiness so when asked to join Close to Home, longtime friend Chris, lined up scores of pints on the street making a trail to our first gig. The rest is history.
You can catch Brian hanging out with his wife Karen, at local Wine Tastings or traveling to far off places looking like Hunter S. Thompson.
A truely talented musician, Brian also plays the drums but is still trying to find a way to play both Bass and drums at the same time!
